Women’s Clinic FAQs

GYN FAQs:

We accept most insurance except non-Delaware Medicaid.

Each visit will have a copay which depends on your insurance plan. Usually, it’s like the copay of a traditional primary care visit.

You know your body best, and it's important to trust your instincts, especially if you've experienced this condition before. If you recognize the symptoms and have been treated successfully in the past, testing might not be necessary. But, if you're unsure or if your symptoms are different, we can help you decide the best approach. Our goal is to ensure you receive the most effective care, so feel free to discuss any concerns you have with us.

Yes, you can request testing for infections such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomoniasis, Yeast, and Bacterial Vaginosis. We offer two testing options: working with a GYN on-site office for a vaginal self-swab collection, or we can place orders for a urine collection that tests for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia, along with bloodwork to screen for HIV, Syphilis, or Hepatitis C. We will provide lab slips for your preferred testing site, or we can fax them directly for you.

We collaborate with a GYN on-site office for a vaginal self-swab collection or help to arrange an in-office exam at one of our Christiana Women’s Health locations.

Yes, we offer testing and treatment if you've been exposed to or test positive for an STI. We can also coordinate a virtual appointment for your partner(s) for testing and/or treatment

You'll receive your results within 72 hours (about 6 days) after providing your samples. Once they're ready, your virtual provider will contact you to discuss the results, whether negative or positive, and if you need treatment or further assessments. Your virtual team will notify you through a direct message in the patient portal or by voice-call.

Your prescription(s) will be sent to your pharmacy as soon as your visit is over. To ensure everything is in stock and ready for you, it's a good idea to call your pharmacy ahead of time.

We can help with that. We work closely with a GYN on-site office for vaginal self-swab collections or can assist with scheduling an in-office exam for you at one of our ChristianaCare Women’s Health locations.

We can help with that too. We can coordinate a vaginal self-swab collection at an on-site GYN office or assist with scheduling an in-office exam for you at one of our ChristianaCare Women’s Health locations.
