What is Behavioral Health?

At the Center for Virtual Health, we believe mental health services should be made easy to access and convenient. Our Virtual Behavioral Health practice offers personalized, 1-on-1 cognitive behavioral therapy and we also run Behavioral Health Groups focused on topic-based discussions. Both programs are delivered online, so they’re easy to fit around your life.

Individual Therapy
  • One-on-one talk therapy
  • Dedicated to your own mental health needs
  • 30-to-60-minute sessions with a behavioral health provider
  • Develop personalized coping skills for conditions like anxiety and depression

How do I get access?

  • If you are a Virtual Primary Care member, short-term access to Behavioral Health is part of your plan, the length of time depends on your needs 
  • Not a Virtual Primary Care member? Ask for a referral from your primary care clinician or another provider
  • Call 302-428-2400 – Option 3
Group Therapy
  • 8 to 12 patients per group, facilitated by a clinical psychologist
  • Meet once a week for a specific length of time
  • Rotating topics like long-COVID recovery, holiday stress (4 weeks) and work stress (4 weeks)
  • Learn and share coping skills for stress, anxiety and depression through group discussion

Our Behavioral Health is complemented by ChristianaCare’s extensive in-person resources. Because we’re connected to a dynamic, unified health system, we provide care at multiple locations to treat a range of mental illnesses.

Behavioral Health FAQs

All new individual sessions last about an hour. Follow-up sessions vary depending on your needs, ranging from just 30 minutes to an hour.

Each group session lasts about an hour, and the number of sessions you attend is typically one per week, for 6 to 8 weeks.

Yes, we’re happy to work together with any member of your care team including your primary care provider.

We team up with other ChristianaCare providers and can also refer you to our recommended partners so that medications complement your care plan when you need them.
